Robert Martellacci and his associates collectively bring over 50 years of expertise to the K-12, post-secondary and lifelong learning environments. He draws on his experience as a university administrator, where he specialized in sport marketing, public relations and business development in promoting the interests of York University.  As a passionate lifelong learner, Robert augmented his expertise as a Phi Delta Kappa graduate of Pepperdine University Master’s in Education Technology which inspired the creation of the MindShare Learning Report — Canada’s Leadership, Learning & Technology eMagazine.

Robert followed his passion for connecting education and business to support student success with an eye on technology as the future. As country manager, he launched The Learning Company School Canada, a leading educational software publisher which, under the leadership of Kevin O’Leary (Dragon’s Den), was eventually acquired by Mattel.

His international scope includes Australia, the Middle East, South America, the United Kingdom and the United States. Robert’s board appointment to ASPIC (Applications Service Provider Industry Consortium) Americas Committee reflects his global connectiveness and leadership in the industry.

Robert maintains close ties to his alma mater at York University (Toronto, CANADA) and Pepperdine University (Malibu, USA). He serves on the board of the Institute for Research on Learning Technology and is the past Chair of York University Varsity Hockey Alumni. He is also a fellow of Stong College at York University and a longtime member of the faculty ice hockey team. Robert is past vice-chair of Computers for Schools (Ontario) and was recently elected as Co-Chairman of the Canadian e-Learning Enterprise Alliance (CeLEA) board. He is also the founding President of the Pepperdine EdTech Alumni Chapter and, most notably, the co-founder C21 Canada — Canadians for 21st Century Learning & Innovation.

Robert is a supporter of the Community Scholarship Fund at York University. He believes it’s important to invest in tomorrow’s leaders today.

Dr. Ron Owston is University Professor Emeritus and Senior Scholar at York University, as well as former Dean of the Faculty of Education, and founding Director of the Institute for Research in Learning Technologies.
A pioneer in teaching and learning with the web since its early days, Dr. Owston specializes in the evaluation of technology-based educational programs in K12, government, higher education, and continuing professional education. He has spoken at numerous national and international conferences about blended and online learning, authored/co-authored some 50 commissioned studies, and published over 60 articles in top-tier journals, including Educational Researcher, Teachers College Record, Research in the Teaching of English, Journal of Computer-Based Instruction, Journal of Information Technology in Teacher Education, Journal of Computer Assisted Learning, Internet & Higher Education, and Journal of Research on Computing in Education.

 

Timothy Gard has been infusing technology and innovation across the curriculum for twenty-five years as a teacher-leader in STEM. He has delivered workshops provincially, nationally and internationally on various topics in digital media, STEM, inquiry-based learning and assessment and evaluation. He has worked with MindShare Learning as K-12 Editor of The MindShare Learning Report, and now as their Chief Learning Strategist.

 

Hanan Mousa joins the MindShare Learning team as the Associate Digital Media Specialist. She has a bachelor’s degree in Computer science and an M.B.A. She taught at Community College overseas for more than 5 years and she worked for more than 7 years as a graphic designer and web development manager for several companies there. MindShare is looking forward to Hanan contributing to the continued accelerated growth of the company. Her passion for design brings fresh new ideas with integrated modern design trends and techniques.
 

An ex-Varsity Hockey player for the York Lions, Paul Sohor demonstrates a strong understanding of taking leadership in educating industry leaders and 21st century learners of adaptive learning. At MindShare Learning, Paul is passionate about innovative tools that enhance the progression of personalized learning. Paul’s passion for creating a positive shift in 21st century learning skills, is followed by his passion for the Toronto Blue-Jays and his hometown team, the Winnipeg Jets.

 

As a user focused software engineer, Chris Kim is in pursuit of using technology to facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations and address today’s talent gap in digital media. Trained in media production and information visualization, Chris works with institutional stakeholders, including University of Toronto, DARPA, and MIT, to build platforms that democratize AI and promote human-in-the-loop automation. Chris also operates a software studio Fresco Industries (https://frescoindustries.com), where he works with emerging talents in promoting underserved communities and facilitating youth entrepreneurship.

 

Ivana Zelich contributes to the Mindshare Learning team as a digital media assistant. She is currently a University of Toronto Student in the Digital Enterprise Management specialist program.
