About Ladan Amirazizi Ladan arrived in Denver as Consul and Senior Trade Commissioner for Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming, in September 2009. Prior to that, she had been working with the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region for over 10 years – she was Deputy Director in the Latin America and Caribbean Commercial Relations division at the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) in Ottawa, where she oversaw the trade and investment relations with the countries in Central America and the Caribbean. Other experiences at DFAIT include: Trade Commissioner in the Mexico division and trade advisor at our regional office in Montreal. Ladan has had two other experiences working abroad: as a post-graduate at the Embassy of Canada in Montevideo, Uruguay, and more recently she spent 3 years working as Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada in Santiago, Chile between 2004 and 2007. She was also a CIDA-Inc program manager at the Canadian International Development Agency from 2002 to 2003, to help develop the private sector in developing countries. Ladan graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1996 with a Bachelor of Commerce, specialization in International Management and Marketing. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Farsi.
